On the last Saturday of every month, The Lugger Inn transforms into an unmissable live entertainment venue, hosting an unforgettable night of music, themed atmosphere, and coastal energy. History
First opened in 1881 during the reign of Queen Victoria as an elegant seaside lodging house, the property has long held its place within the story of Penzance’s waterfront. Renamed the Marine Hotel in 1905, it evolved gracefully with the changing century while preserving the character of its original Victorian architecture — its distinguished roofline, ornate gables, and commanding bay windows still overlooking the sea today. In 1999, Lesley first acquired the restaurant lease before taking stewardship of the entire hotel, ushering in a new chapter of refined hospitality. Now home to eighteen beautifully appointed rooms set across three floors, the hotel remains one of Penzance’s most iconic waterfront lodgings, timeless in both spirit and setting.
